High crush strength, medium bending strength and stiffness and considered a very good steam bending wood. |
  Santos Mahagony |

| High strength and good stability. Straight grain, with thin to rough and even structure. Shiny, middle to heavy woodiness. |
Heartwood is durable and very resistant to preservative treatment. Sapwood is moderately resistant. Logs are subject to severe insect attack. |
  Tigerwood |

straight to wavy vein, the wood is heavy with high strength and glossy after processing. |
Dries rapidly with little degradation. Small movement. Heartwood is moderately resistant to preservative treatment and sapwood is permeable. |

| High bending and crushing strength. Medium stiffness and resistence to shock, but tends to splinter. Low steam bending characteristics. |
